Unfolde Family Privacy & Safety — Explained Simply
Last updated: August 10, 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what happens when you use Unfolde Family. It's a summary — the full legal details are in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but this page covers the important parts.
One thing to know up front: Unfolde Family isn't available in Illinois, Texas, or Washington. Those states have their own laws about face data, and we don't offer the app there.
What we collect
- Your photo. When you upload a photo, our AI looks at your face so it can turn you into your superhero, anime, or fantasy character while keeping it looking like you. The face data it uses is deleted as soon as your picture is finished — or as soon as it fails, if something goes wrong.
- Your account info. Your email and login info, plus a few basics like the age range you pick at signup, your account type, and how often you use the app.
- What you make. We save your transformations and comic strips so you can look at them again later.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your photos or information to anyone.
- We don't use your info to show you ads.
- We don't use your face data to train or improve AI models.
- We don't let you turn off the safety settings just by saying you're an adult — they're changed from the Account & Data page.
Safety features, built in
- Every account starts on the safest settings. You can see them on the Account & Data page — but on a Teen Account, the limits below can't be switched off from inside the app.
- Our AI checks photos for safety before making certain types of transformations, and blocks some styles if it thinks the person in the photo might be under 18 — even if the account says otherwise.
- You can't unlock restricted content by just saying you're an adult. Saying you're 18 or older at signup doesn't unlock anything, change any default setting, or remove any of the protections on this page.
If you're 13 to 17
When you sign up we ask which age range you're in. If you tell us you're 13 to 17, your account is a Teen Account. Some things work differently on a Teen Account, and you can't switch them on yourself from inside the app — a parent or guardian has to act first. Here's exactly what that means.
- Our AI won't look at your face at all until a parent or guardian agrees to it. Until then, the transformations that need to see your face won't work.
- Graphic Mode is switched off, and some transformation styles are blocked.
- You can't use the referral program, so we never ask you for anyone else's email address.
- We won't send you marketing messages.
- How a parent says yes: they make a payment with a credit card, debit card, or another online payment method that notifies the cardholder. That's how we check that the person agreeing is really an adult. We don't keep their full card details.
- A parent or guardian can change their mind at any time. If they do, we stop analyzing faces on your account and delete any face data we hold for it.
Your choices
- Ask us to delete everything. You (or a parent) can delete your account and all your photos and data at any time from the Account & Data page.
- Turn off extra tracking. You can say no to analytics tracking when you first visit, and change your mind at any time — it won't stop you from using the app.
- Ask us any question. Email legal@transformme.net any time — you or a parent can ask what info we have, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it.
Who to ask if you're not sure
If anything here is confusing, or you're not sure whether something is okay to do, ask a parent or guardian, or email us at legal@transformme.net — we're glad to explain.
